2020 Administrative Team

Jake is starting his fifth year on staff with the organziation and has been heavily involved in WGI since 2009, performing in several independent world class ensembles including: Palmetto Percussion, Odyssey Percussion Theatre, Terminus Atlanta Percussion, and Music City Mystique. He also was a member of the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012 & 2013, and was on the percussion staff for Spirit of Atlanta in 2015. Currently, Jake is also the Front Ensemble Coordinator at the Colts Drum & Bugle Corps.  Jake is an alumnus of the University of Georgia and and currently resides in Nashville, TN where he works full time as a non-profit Development Consultant. Currently working with dozens of large non-profit organizations across the country, Jake brings expertise to Equinox in the areas of development, volunteer management, and fundraising.

Chris Parker started his marching career in 2009, performing in notable groups such as Odysseey Percussion Theatre, Spirit of Atlanta, Phantom Regiment, and Music City Mystique. Afterwards, he started teaching at Music City Drum Corps, Spirit of Atlanta, and Palmetto as a front ensemble technician. Chris is starting his third year on staff with the organization. He also designs, writes, and teaches for high schools all over the southeast. Lucas Davidson is an Atlanta native from Union Grove High School who graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2012. During his time in college he participated in multiple performance and design ensembles within the Georgia Tech music department including the marching band, instrument design, and electronic percussion ensemble sponsored by the music master’s program and students.    Since 2008, Lucas has marched competitively for multiple seasons in both Drum Corps International and Winter Guard International. As a snare player, Lucas competed at Teal Sound, Atlanta Quest, Odyssey Percussion Theater and finally at Spirit of Atlanta under the direction of Shane Gwaltney and Joe Hobbs. During this time and since exiting the competitive performance arena, Lucas has spent the past 8 years performing for multiple NFL organizations including the Atlanta Falcons for 6 years (2008-2012, 2016) and the Carolina Panthers for 2 years (2014,2015).    Lucas began instructional work in Winter Guard International in 2014 with Paradigm Percussion from Charlotte, NC where he helped the ensemble compete in both A and Open classes. For the past three years he’s instructed the snare line as well as assisted with, designed, and instructed battery warmups, body movement, and ensemble coordination. Lucas currently lives in Charlotte, NC where he’s been since 2014 working in the transportation industry as an intermodal terminal manager with Davidson Transportation Marketing, Inc. Lucas was previously a snare technician for the 2018 and 2019 seasons and will be returning as the Executive Director for 2020.

Ernad has been involved with the Equinox organization since 2017. He was a member of the front ensemble in 2017 and 2018 then Ernad joined the staff in 2019, he is humbled to be taking on his new role as Logistics Coordinator for the 2020 season.  Ernad is the currently Program Coordinator and Percussion Director for the Discovery High School Band in Lawrenceville, GA. There he oversees the overall show design and logistics for the group.  When Ernad is not arranging music or teaching, he is pursuing a Criminal Justice/Criminology Degree to one day practice law.  Ernad is excited to start his 4th year with Equinox.

Kyle Bickwit is thrilled to join the staff of Equinox Percussion for the 2020 season! Kyle is currently the Director of Bands at East Hall Middle School in Gainesville, GA where he also assists East Hall High School Marching Band as the Front Ensemble and Woodwind Instructor. Kyle began his career in the marching percussion world with Alliance Drum and Bugle Corps in 2008. He marched with Alliance from 2008 to 2010, and also performed with Atlanta Quest Independent Indoor Drumline in 2009 and 2010. Kyle earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music in 2014. During his time at UGA, he spent two years marching with the Redcoat Band and two years on staff as the Front Ensemble Instructor. In the Summer of 2011, Kyle performed as a Marimbist with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. Kyle continues to stay involved with UGA as a staff member for their Summer Music Camps. In his free time, Kyle enjoys playing tennis, running and rock-climbing. He currently lives in Athens with his fiancée, Cecile.
